Bill Konigsberg was born in 1970 in New York City, where expectations for his athleticism were high from the beginning. Despite his parents’ hopes for a future soccer star, Bill’s soccer career peaked at Camp Greylock in 1978 when he made the “D” team. Throughout his life, Bill aspired to be a disc jockey, a professional baseball player, or even the Construction Worker from The Village People, but none of these dreams came to fruition – yet. Despite being voted Most Likely to Avoid Doing Any Real Work In His Life in high school, Bill defied expectations with a series of unusual jobs in his 20s. He has also worked as a sports writer and editor for The Associated Press, a graduate school teacher, and a published author of several novels, including the Lambda Literary Award-winning Out of the Pocket. Currently residing in Chandler, Arizona with his husband and two dogs, Bill continues to defy expectations and pursue his passion for writing.
